At the Airport...

"While on a recent business trip, and trying to rush through security, I got a minor but somewhat bloody cut on my hand while rummaging through my briefcase.  The cut was not severe, but because I am on Plavix and aspirin therapy the bleeding was messy and came at a very inconvenient time!  Luckily I had a KytoStat bandage with me.  I applied it with a little pressure for a couple minutes and it worked like a charm to stop the bleeding and get me on my way.  Just what I needed."

 At the Workplace...

“My workplace does not have any sharp knives in the break room and I had half of an avocado that I wanted to put on my salad for lunch. I was trying to push the avocado pit out with a butter knife. The knife slipped off the pit and stabbed my ring finger, on the hand that was holding the avocado halve.

The cut was rough, pretty deep, and bleeding a lot. Without even cleaning the cut or checking how deep it was, I wrapped a KytoStat around the wound. I could see through the white adhesive strip that the KytoStat pad was developing a sizeable red stain. If the pad had been regular gauze, I would've expected my cut to bleed through; with KytoStat, the red stain remained, but it never grew any bigger than the size of the wound itself. After 4 days of diligent wear and dry conditions (imagine, washing your hair with one hand), I decided to check out the cut.

When pressure was applied to the wound site, it still really hurt but I wanted to see how the KytoStat was working. I removed the bandage in the shower, and I was shocked to see how deep the cut actually was. The skin had jagged flaps and when I pulled open the flaps of skin, you could see tissue deep down inside. I decided to take my finger to the doctor.

The doctor said the cut appeared very clean and healthy, no signs of infection, and to be healing properly. He said my cut could have used 2 or 3 stitches if I had presented the injury within 24 hours of the occurrence. He did recommend that I wear a splint on my finger because the cut was on the side of my finger joint (the proximal interphalangeal joint). Every time that I bent my finger, the cut was pulled open and closed, so the healing was being interrupted by the movement. He suggested I could apply a regular band-aid or another KytoStat since it appeared to be keeping the cut clean, moist, and healing quickly.

I decided to apply another KytoStat since the cut continued to ooze a lot and I had a gut feeling that it would heal faster with a KytoStat than with a regular band-aid. I kept the bandage on for 10 days total and, when I took it off, my finger was almost healed; the cut was completely closed within a couple days after removal.”

In the Kitchen...

" The other day I responded to a medical emergency in our deli department where an employee had been cut.  After several attempts to get the cut to stop bleeding I decided to try a KytoStat bandage that we started carrying in our stores.  Within a minute of its application the cut had completely stopped bleeding.  The KytoStat definitely did what they advertise it to do.

“After sharpening a knife while cooking, I fumbled it and dropped it off of my kitchen counter. As a natural reflex I reached out and grabbed the knife to ensure it did not land on my foot. This left a nasty cut on the inside of my hand between my palm and pinkie finger. After applying a KytoStat bandage, the bleeding immediately stopped. The wound healed in a week and I have never had such an experience with such a deep cut. I highly recommend KytoStat to keep on hand in the house, car, and in first aid kits. It really saved me from a trip to the emergency room and stopped my bleeding instantly. This product is amazing and it works.”
